Using soft robotics we look to strengthen the human to robot interaction. Our bot would be used to comfort and relax people while also making them feel safe. The Hai-bot acts as a companion in a one on one relationship at an airport that can help with path-finding, information, and give the occasional hug. When activated during an emergency (bomb threat) the robots swarm together to protect their companions by absorbing the shock.
Design
Hai-bot’s soft appearance is designed to improve human to robot compliance & interaction, codify human morality & allow it to show emotion, and lastly have awareness in the environment.

Assembly
Hai-bot uses features in its arms and tires to stack during emergencies to protect and shield people from danger.

Swarm Modes
Inflate Swarm Mode: In this swarm the bot is alternated throughout the design causing it to inflate and fill up empty space to trap the explosion completely.
Deflate Swarm Mode: In this swarm the bot is alternated throughout the design causing it to deflate before reinflating to trap the explosion completely.
